Quick verdict
An IP67 rated ABS enclosure with a gasketed lid and an internal mounting plate, for housing a Wi-Fi switch, a lighting controller, a router, a power supply or a splice where rain and dust would otherwise reach them. IP67 means dust tight and proof against immersion, which covers anything a garden throws at it. Cable glands are fitted through the walls and the plate takes screws for mounting boards. It is the box every outdoor electronics project needs and most skip.
Strengths
- IP67 dust tight and immersion proof
- Gasketed lid with screw-down corners
- Internal mounting plate for boards and devices
- ABS resists UV and impact
- Several sizes available in the range
Weaknesses
- Cable glands must be fitted to keep the rating
- ABS is not for direct burial
- Drilling for glands needs care to keep the seal
The overall YardToolLab Score is out of 100. Section scores are out of 10.
Electronics Do Not Like Rain
Garden lighting, pond pumps, irrigation controllers and outdoor Wi-Fi all involve a small box of electronics that was not designed to get wet, and the usual answer is a plastic bag and hope. A proper enclosure is the answer. YETLEBOX’s is IP67 rated ABS with a gasketed screw-down lid and an internal mounting plate, in a range of sizes, for anything from a smart relay to a router.
This review is based on the listing specifications and on how IP-rated plastic enclosures are used outdoors generally. We have not used this box ourselves.
The Rating
IP67 is dust tight and survives temporary immersion. On a wall under an eave, on a post in a bed or beside a pond, nothing short of flooding gets in, provided the cable entries are sealed. The gasket in the lid and the screws at the corners are what hold the rating; close it fully every time.
Cable Entry
Drill holes in the lower side and fit cable glands sized to the cable, which clamp and seal around it. Entering from below means any water on the cable drips away from the gland. Leave a drip loop in the cable outside. This step is the whole difference between a sealed box and a plastic bucket.
Inside
The mounting plate takes screws, so a relay board, a power supply or a controller fixes firmly rather than rattling. Wall ears mount the box to a post or fence. ABS is radio transparent, so a Wi-Fi switch or an access point inside still has signal, which a metal box would block.
What It Enables
A smart relay controlling garden lights from the garden. A 12 volt supply for LED strips under a pergola. A sprinkler controller at the manifold instead of in the garage. An outdoor access point at the end of the garden. A protected splice that would otherwise be taped and buried.
Who Should Buy It
- Anyone putting smart home gear outdoors.
- Landscape lighting and irrigation DIYers housing controllers.
- Makers and hobbyists with garden projects.
Common Owner Complaints
Water inside from unsealed holes. Fit glands; enter from below.
Technique Tips
Lay out the components on the mounting plate outside the box and drill the plate on a bench, then fit the plate; drilling inside the box risks the walls. Add a sachet of desiccant inside before closing, which absorbs the humidity sealed in with the air. Mount the box with the lid vertical or facing down so rain does not sit on the gasket, and open it on a dry day only.
Alternatives to Consider
Polycarbonate enclosures for clear lids and higher impact resistance. Metal NEMA boxes where radio is not needed. Larger sizes in the same range for bigger projects.
Verdict
For keeping garden electronics dry, an IP67 box with a mounting plate is the proper answer and this one is well made for the money. Fit the glands from below, screw the lid down and the project survives the winter.

YETLEBOX IP67 Waterproof ABS Outdoor Electrical Junction and Project Box with Mounting Plate FAQs
The first digit, 6, is dust tight. The second, 7, is protection against temporary immersion in water. For a box on a wall or post in rain, it is more than enough.
Drill a hole in the side and fit a cable gland of the right size, which seals around the cable. Enter from the bottom so water runs away from the gland.
Smart relays and switches for lights, a low voltage power supply, a Wi-Fi access point, a sprinkler controller, a sensor board, or a protected splice.
ABS is transparent to radio, so a router or access point inside works. Metal boxes would not.
