About YardToolLab

YardToolLab is an independent research site for yard and garden tools. We help homeowners and pros choose lawn mowers, string trimmers, leaf blowers, chainsaws, pressure washers, watering gear and hand tools without wading through marketing claims.

What we do

Every ranking on YardToolLab is research-led. For each tool we gather the manufacturer’s own specifications and manuals, cross-check verified owner feedback for real-world reliability, runtime and build quality, and compare the tool against the strongest alternatives in its category. We then write a plain-English verdict: what it is good at, where it falls short, and who should buy it or skip it.

How we stay independent

We do not sell rankings and we do not accept payment for placement. YardToolLab is supported by affiliate commissions — if you buy through a link we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you — but that never changes where a product lands in our rankings. Our promise on accuracy

We check product facts against manufacturer sources, and we label our reviews as research-based. Where we have first-hand notes on a tool, we say so; where a review is built from specifications and owner feedback rather than physical use, we say that too. Spotted an error?
