Quick verdict

The K1700 Cube is a compact washer with independently certified output of 1700 PSI and 1.2 GPM, three nozzles, a foot-operated power switch and a removable detergent tank. It is ideal for cars, bikes, patio furniture and small patios. For big driveways it is underpowered, and Karcher sells larger models for that.

Honest Numbers in a Small Box

Karcher did something unusual with the K1700 Cube: it had the output independently certified. CETA, the Cleaning Equipment Trade Association, verified 1700 PSI and 1.2 GPM, so unlike most electric washers the figure on the box is the figure you get. The machine itself is a compact cube with a foot switch, three nozzles and a detachable detergent tank, aimed at people who wash cars, furniture and small hard surfaces.

This review is based on Karcher’s specifications and on owner feedback rather than on our own research.

Cleaning Performance

At a certified 1700 PSI the K1700 Cube is a light-duty washer, and owners who match it to the right jobs are happy: cars, motorcycles, grills, patio furniture, bikes, siding and small patios. The turbo nozzle extends its reach to mossy pavers. Large driveways and heavily stained concrete are slow going, and owners who bought it for those jobs are the source of most disappointment.

Nozzles and Detergent

Three nozzles cover the range: a 15 degree for concentrated cleaning, a turbo for stubborn grime and a 65 degree for wide, gentle rinsing and detergent application. The 0.3 gallon tank lifts off for filling and detergent is applied through the wide nozzle at low pressure. The system is simple and works well for car washing.

Design and Usability

The cube shape is the point: it is light, carries by a top handle and stores in a cupboard. The on/off switch is on the top and designed to be pressed with a foot, which saves bending. Auto stop pauses the pump when the trigger is released. The hose is short enough that working around a large truck means moving the unit, which it tolerates well.

Build Quality

The wand and fittings are plastic, which is normal at this price, and owners report multi-season reliability with indoor winter storage. Karcher’s accessory ecosystem is broad, and surface cleaners and foam jets fit.

Setup and Care

Assembly is minimal. Connect the garden hose, purge air through the gun before switching on and fit a nozzle. Flush detergent through after use and store above freezing to protect the pump. A quick-connect adapter on the garden hose end makes setup faster still, and owners recommend coiling the high-pressure hose loosely rather than tightly to prevent kinks.

Common Owner Complaints

Power for large hard surfaces, plastic fittings and hose length. Within its intended use, complaints are few.

Alternatives to Consider

The Westinghouse ePX3100 offers more rated pressure in a similar compact format. Karcher’s own K2000 and K2300 are the step up for larger jobs. Active’s 2.0 GPM unit suits detailers who prioritise flow for foam.

Verdict

For cars, furniture and small patios, the K1700 Cube is a tidy, honest, easy-to-store washer with certified output and a strong accessory range. If your main job is a big driveway, buy more pressure.

Karcher K1700 Cube Electric Pressure Washer FAQs

What does CETA certified mean?

The Cleaning Equipment Trade Association independently verified the pressure and flow figures, which is unusual in a market where max numbers are often inflated.

Is 1700 PSI enough?

For cars, outdoor furniture, grills, small patios and siding, yes. For large stained concrete it is slow and a 2300 PSI or gas unit is better.

Does it have a soap nozzle?

Detergent is drawn from the onboard tank and applied through the 65 degree nozzle at low pressure.

Can I use Karcher accessories?

Yes. Karcher's K-series accessories, including surface cleaners and foam jets, fit the K1700.
