Quick verdict
Ten sets of galvanized two-piece saddle clamps that bolt around a pair of 1-5/8 inch outside-diameter round pipes, joining chain link fence panels and dog kennel panels so they stand rigid without wobble or gaps. The size must match the pipe exactly, so measure before ordering. Galvanized steel darkens outdoors but does not rust through. They replace lost or rusted factory clamps or let you add panels to an existing run.
Strengths
- Joins kennel and fence panels rigidly with no wobble
- Exact fit for 1-5/8 inch outside diameter pipe
- Galvanized steel for outdoor use
- Ten sets covers a full kennel or several panel joins
- Bolts included
Weaknesses
- Only fits 1-5/8 inch OD pipe; other sizes need other clamps
- Galvanized finish darkens over time
- Bolts can seize if not greased before assembly

Panels That Stand Together
Dog kennel panels and chain link fence sections are joined by saddle clamps that bolt around two adjacent pipes. Lose the clamps, or buy panels without them, and the run wobbles and gaps open at the joins. Alffun’s pack is ten sets of two-piece galvanized clamps with bolts for 1-5/8 inch outside-diameter pipe, enough for four or five panel joins.
This review is based on the listing specifications and on how saddle clamps are used on chain link and kennel panels generally. We have not used these clamps ourselves.
Fit
Saddle clamps only work on the exact pipe size. Measure the outside diameter of the panel frame before ordering: wrap a tape around the pipe and divide by 3.14, or use calipers. Kennel panels are commonly 1-3/8 or 1-5/8 inches; these fit the larger size snugly, and on the smaller they will not grip.
Installation
Stand two panels edge to edge, fit one clamp half around both pipes from the front and the other from the back, start both bolts and tighten evenly. Use two or three clamps per join, top and bottom and one in the middle on tall panels. Tightened properly, the join is as rigid as the panel itself and the run stands square without posts at every joint.
Materials
Galvanized steel suits outdoor use and matches the panels. It darkens with weather and may show a little rust at cut edges after years, which is cosmetic. Grease the bolt threads at assembly so the clamps can be undone when a panel needs moving.
Uses
Beyond kennels, the same clamps join temporary chain link panels for construction and events, fix gate frames to posts and connect round-tube enclosure panels for poultry and goats.
Who Should Buy It
- Dog owners assembling or extending a kennel run.
- Anyone replacing lost or rusted panel clamps.
- Owners of temporary chain link panels for projects.
Common Owner Complaints
Wrong pipe size ordered. Measure first.
Tightening Tips
Tighten both bolts on a clamp alternately a few turns at a time so the halves draw together evenly and the clamp seats square on both pipes. A clamp tightened from one side first sits crooked and never grips fully. Check all clamps after the first week, since panels settle and bolts take a final quarter turn.
Removing and Reusing
Because the clamps are bolted, a kennel can be taken down, moved and rebuilt with the same hardware. Keep the removed clamps and bolts together in a bag; they are easy to lose in grass and the pipe size is specific.
Alternatives to Consider
1-3/8 inch clamps for the smaller kennel pipe. Panel connectors with a wing bolt for tool-free temporary joins. Brace bands and tension bands for standard chain link fence framework.
Verdict
For joining 1-5/8 inch kennel and fence panels so they do not wobble, ten sets of galvanized clamps at this price is good value. Measure the pipe, grease the bolts and tighten evenly.

Alffun 10 Sets 1-5/8 Inch Galvanized Chain Link Fence and Kennel Panel Clamps FAQs
Measure the outside diameter of the panel frame tube with calipers or a tape around the circumference divided by 3.14. Kennel panels are commonly 1-3/8 or 1-5/8 inches; these fit the larger.
Two or three clamps per vertical join between panels, at top, bottom and middle for tall panels. Ten sets does four or five joins.
Stand the panels together, fit one half of the clamp around both pipes, the other half opposite, and tighten the bolts evenly until the panels cannot move.
Galvanized steel darkens and may show surface rust at the cut edges after years, but does not fail. A dab of grease on the bolt threads prevents seizing.
