Visiting Rockler Woodworking and Hardware
Rockler Woodworking and Hardware is a locally run hardware store in Concord, California, found at 4420 Treat Boulevard. The store is open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 6 pm; Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm; Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm. It is a practical local stop for Concord gardeners who would rather get plants and know-how from people nearby than from a national chain.
Growing conditions in Concord
California’s climate ranges from cool coastal fog belts to hot inland valleys, but most of the state sits in a mild Mediterranean pattern (broadly USDA zones 9 to 10) with dry summers and wet winters. That makes a nearby store genuinely useful, because its stock leans toward citrus, succulents, California natives such as ceanothus and salvia, and drought-tolerant Mediterranean plants that actually do well here. It is worth asking staff about right-plant, right-place choices for your specific spot, soil and sun.
Plants and supplies
The store generally stocks tools and fasteners, paint and plumbing and electrical supplies, and a garden section with soil, plants, hoses, fertiliser and outdoor-power basics, with the mix rotating by season.
