Poso Creek Ranch and Feed at a glance
Poso Creek Ranch and Feed is an independent farm and garden supply store in Shafter, California, at 135 North Shafter Avenue. For gardeners in and around Shafter it is a local, staffed alternative to the big-box aisles, the kind of place where you can see plants in person and get advice suited to your own yard.
What you will find
As a farm and garden supply store, the range usually covers farm and garden supplies, feed and seed, soil and fertiliser, fencing and tools, and seasonal plants. Selection is seasonal, so it shifts through the year with whatever is planting and growing best.
Growing conditions in Shafter
California’s climate ranges from cool coastal fog belts to hot inland valleys, but most of the state sits in a mild Mediterranean pattern (broadly USDA zones 9 to 10) with dry summers and wet winters. That makes a nearby store genuinely useful, because its stock leans toward citrus, succulents, California natives such as ceanothus and salvia, and drought-tolerant Mediterranean plants that actually do well here. It is worth asking staff about right-plant, right-place choices for your specific spot, soil and sun.
