Grounded at a glance
Located at 1913 Martin Luther King Junior Avenue Southeast in Washington, District of Columbia, Grounded is an independent garden center and plant nursery that is open Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 7 pm; Saturday from 8 am to 7 pm; Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm. It serves the Washington area as a neighbourhood option for plants and garden supplies, with staff on hand rather than a self-service warehouse.
Plants and supplies
As a garden center and plant nursery, the range usually covers annuals and perennials, trees and shrubs, native and drought-tolerant plants, succulents and houseplants, plus the soil, compost, containers, seeds and hand tools that go with them. Selection is seasonal, so it shifts through the year with whatever is planting and growing best.
What grows well around Washington
The Northeast climate here has four clear seasons (broadly USDA zones 5 to 7) with warm summers and cold winters, giving a defined spring planting season and vivid autumn. That makes a nearby store genuinely useful, because its stock leans toward hardy perennials, spring bulbs, cool-season vegetables, and trees and shrubs bred for cold winters that actually do well here. It is worth asking staff about right-plant, right-place choices for your specific spot, soil and sun.
