About Groundcovers Greenhouse & Garden Center
Groundcovers Greenhouse & Garden Center is an independent garden center and plant nursery in Denver, Colorado, at 4301 East Iliff Avenue. For gardeners in and around Denver it is a local, staffed alternative to the big-box aisles, the kind of place where you can see plants in person and get advice suited to your own yard.
Plants and supplies
Expect the sort of stock a garden center and plant nursery carries: annuals and perennials, trees and shrubs, native and drought-tolerant plants, succulents and houseplants, plus the soil, compost, containers, seeds and hand tools that go with them. What is on the benches changes with the season.
Growing conditions in Denver
The Mountain West here brings a cold, high-elevation climate (often USDA zones 4 to 6) with short summers, cold winters and big day-to-night temperature swings. That makes a nearby store genuinely useful, because its stock leans toward hardy perennials, cold-tolerant vegetables, native grasses and short-season fruit that actually do well here. It is worth asking staff about right-plant, right-place choices for your specific spot, soil and sun.
